GIRLS’ CRICKET
MEETING OF COUNCIL i At the monthly meeting of the Auckland Girls’ Cricket Council, held in tlio Y.W.C.A. on Thursday evening. Mr. H. J. Wily was installed as president of the association. Mrs. Shaw, Miss Newman and Miss Twiname have accepted the positions of vice-presi-dents. It was reported that the executive j had decided that play was to commence at 2 p.m.. and decision matches were to be of one innings only. If no decision had been reached by 6 p.m. stumps were to be drawn then, and the match declared a draw. Points would, be awarded as follow: two for a win, one for a draw, nil for a loss. These decisions were confirmed by the council. Mr. Wily expressed much pleasure in handing to the council a beautiful silver cap which has been presented to : the Auckland Girls’ Cricket Associa- j i tion by Mr. A. Kohn, of A. Xohn. Ltd ; The cup is to be awarded annually to \ tho winning team in the senior grade ; I championship. It was decided to award : the cap, which will be known as the i ; “Kohn Cup.” to Hockey A team, the winners of last season’s championship, to hold until the end of this season. =
