BUILDING LINE IMPROVEMENT If the idea of the Devonport Borough Council to act on the provisions of the Town Planning Act is workable, the building line in any street will be I set back at least fifteen feet. The council is of the opinion that ! rows of sheds, dignified by the 'name j of garages, standing on the line of street and edged in between the front walls of houses and the footpath, are not conducive to beauty in street appearance; and under section 34 of the Town Planning Act it is proposed to enact a by-law setting back the building line for garages and dwellings to •lo feet from the street line, wherever tt is possible.
