The entrance hall of the Prime Minister’s lodge at Canberra, Australia’s Federal capital, This home is ready for Mr. Scullin to walk into when ever he pleases. It cost more than £17,000. A feature of the house is that, wherever possible, goods of Australian manufacture have been used, both in the building and the furnishing. This hall is half-panelled in Tasmanian blackwood with the same timber making its appearance in the beamed ceiling. The flooring is jarrah and Australian oak.
