Child’s Tragic Fate Kivell John Biddick, the two-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. K. J. Biddick, of Tuakau, died at the Auckland Hospital at two-thirty this afternoon from burns received as the result of falling into a bath of boiling water. Stansell, Taipnha and Ruarangi: assistant mistress, Miss B. G. Ivey. Ruawai District High School. * * => Goods by False Pretenses 6 Aliouen Alan Gibson, aged 39, a Canadian, was admitted to two years’ probation to follow the equal term he is now serving by Mr. P. H. Harper, S.M., in the Gisborne Police Court this morning, on two charges of obtaining goods by false pretences, to which he pleaded guilty. Headmaster’s Death Regret was expressed this morning by the Education Board at the death of Mr. Mark H. Moon, headmaster of Mangero East School. “Mr. Moon’s deah was a great loss to the board,’’ remarked Mr. A. Burns, chairman of the board. “He was one of our most able headmasters.’’ A letter of sympathy will be sent to Mr. Moon’s relatives. Metropolitan Show Schedules for the Auckland Metropolitan Show, to V e held on February 27 and 28, and March 1, will shortly be available. Clases will be arranged for all live stock, including North Island championships and general sections in horses, cattle and pigs, and ordinary classes for poultry, rabbits and dogs. Vegetable produce, home industries, photography and school exhibits will also be seen at the^show.^ School Swimming Appreciation of the work of Mr. L. Brighton, educational officer to the j Auckland Swimming Centre, in teachi ing swimming in schools, was expressed at the Education Board this morning by Mr. A. Burns, the chairman, and Mr. H. S. AV7 King. Last season, Mr. Brighton, by voluntary work, was responsible for the issuing of more than 5,000 certificates in 190 Auckland schools.
