ELECTRIC POWER WANTED

WARKWORTH’S NEED The people of Warkworth and nearby districts wish to secure power from Arapuni for industrial and household purposes and their need has been brought under the notice of the Waitemata Power Board by Mr. A. J. Murdoch, M.P., and Mr. Wenzl Scholium. It was stated that the population of the township numbering 1,200, together with the dairy factories and .farms along the route, would provide a payable load if acceptable arrangements could be made. It was necessary to ascertain if the board would be disposed to assist if requested. Mr. J. W. Hayden, chairman of the board, with whom Messrs. G. O’l-lal-loran and A. JE. Greenslade, members, and A. Main, secretary, were associated. pointed out that the board’s lines were steadily penetrating into the country along the east and west routes toward the north boundary.
