VANDALS AT OTAHUHU
MUNICIPAL QUARRY BUILDING ENTERED MUCH DAMAGE DONE Vandals visited the Otahuhu Municipal Quarries during the week-end. This morning the foreman discovered that the building had been visited sometime on Sunday or late on Saturday. The office window had been broken and the catch released. A tin containing a small sum of money was forced open and the contents removed, and papers from a cupboard were strewn on the floor. A sum of money in the pocket of a waistcoat hanging in the office was not taken.
The door of the storeroom had been forced open and the contents scattered round the floor. A visit had also been paid to the engine-room and two 4gallon tins of oil had been burst open and the contents poured round the building. The machinery belting was also interfered w-ith, but no damage had been done. .
