MOTOR-CYCLIST’S SUIT AGAINST MOTORIST RESULT OF COLLISION From Our Ow*i Correspondent HAMILTON, Today. A claim for ,£734 damages for in juries received in a motor accident was brought in the Supreme Court today by John Ernest Hansen, aged 21. dairy company employee. Waitoa. against Nathaniel Stafford, a farmer, of Manawaru. Mr. W. J. King appeared for plaintiff and Mr J. F. Strong for defendant. The claimant said that on June 18. 1929, he was riding a motor-cycle from Te Aroha to Waitoa on the correct side of the road and defendant was driving a motor-car toward Te Aroha so negligently and unskilfully that it collided with plaintiff’s motor-cycle. As a result of the collision plaintiff was injured about the face and body, lost several teeth, had his shoulderblade fractured and suffered permanent injury. The defence was that plaintiff had the last and best opportunity of avoiding the collision, but failed to avail himself of it. (Proceeding.)
