RICHMOND BAPTISTS
WELCOME TO NEW PASTOR A welcome social to Pastor C. Chant, who commenced his ministry at the Richmond Baptist Church on Sunday, was held in the church last evening. Greetings were read by the chairman, Mr. W. H. Newton, from the Rev. J. W. Kemp, president of the N.Z.8.U., tlie Rev. W. H. Lambert vice-president, the Rev. AV. M. P. Lascelles, secretary, and from Mornington, Pastor Chant's last church, Otago Auxiliary, the Epsom Church, of which ho was formerly the pastor, Ponsonby, and Mount Eden churches. The charge to pastor and people was given the Rev. Knowles Kempton, after which a welcome was given by the chairman on behalf of the church, Miss E. W. B. Davies for the B.AV.M U Mr. C. W. Boswell for the Sunday School, and Mr. A. Menzies for the Endeavourers. 1 Mr. F. W. Gaze, as president of the Auckland Auxiliary the Rev. J. Hiddleston, as former pastor, and on behalf of the Baptist Ministers’ Fraternal, also spoke. Solos were rendered by Miss G. Wilkins and Miss E. P. Newton, and =i “social hour” followed. At the services in the church last Sunday there were good attendances 1 In the morning Mr. Chant spoke on Certainly I will be with Thee " and the evening took as his text. “SirA\ e A\ ould See Jesus.” The soloists were Miss G. Wilkins and Miss M Stewart.
