The lace-work is charmingly delicate, and. the parchment colour goes equally well with dark or light wood, and with almost all kinds and shades of china and glass.

A bread knife which makes easy work of cutting new bread or crumbling cake will save both time and temper. It has a saw-like edge, the serrations being arranged alternately in opposite directions. This means that the knife can be used with a simple to-and-fro saw-like movement, and the thinnest slice of bread may be cut without crumbling.
