NEW SOUTH WALES COAL TROUBLE MEN SWAYED BY LEADERS Reed. 9.5 a.m. SYDNEY, Today. Before the Coal Commission, James Johnstone, manager of the Richmond Main colliery, near Newcastle, gave evidence that 10 per cent, of the members of the Miners’ Federation caused all the trouble, and used their full powers of intimidation, while 90 per cent, lacked moral courage, or, more correctly, industrial courage. The average in. dividual was altogether different from what he was collectively, and the majority could be swayed without difficulty.
