SALVATIONIST LEADER
GENERAL HIGGINS BACK FROM AMERICA “BANISHMENT” OF A BOOTH (baited P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) LONDON, Saturday. Cries of "Hallelujah” and "volleys of cheers greeted General J. Higgins and Mrs. Higgins, of the Salvation Army, at Waterloo Station upon their return from Canada. General Higgins said the Salvation Army in Canada was united under the new leadership. He had had the friendliest meeting with Commander Evangeline Booth, Commissioner for the United States. When asked to comment on Commissioner Lucy Booth-Hellberg's socalled banishment to South America, General Higgins said: "If it is banishment to go to a city like Buenos Ayres, with 2,000,000 inhabitants, and with the whole of South America as an area of command, then I do not understand the meaning of the word ‘banishment.’ ”
