RICH NEGROES REFUSED ACCOMMODATION SLIGHTED ON A LINER (United P.A. — By Telegraph — Copyright) Reed. 12.15 p.m. LONDON, Sat. Robert Abbott, a wealthy negro newspaper proprietor of Chicago, has cabled to Sir. Marley, NI P., complaining that be and his wife were not only refused accommodation at London hotels on account of their colour, but also, when returning first-class on the liner Aquitania. were forced iuto a grill-room, aud deprived of music and other entertainment. Mr. Marley. who is saising the matter in Parliament, stated that three prominent coloured visitors were recently excluded from London dancehalls. He had written to Lord Passfield, Secretary of State for the Dominions, resenting this affront. A dance-hall owner, interviewed, declared that his hall was intended for white people only. He absolutely refused to admit coloured people, however eminent they might be.
