PICTUREDROME, MILFORD

LABOUR NIGHT CARNIVAL The Picturedrome at Milford this evening will be the scene of the first carnival de luxe of the season. The picture programme will be headed by the Paramount picturisation of Anita Loos’s famous novel, “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.” The picture is a Hector Turnbull production, and features an all-star cast, including Ruth Taylor, Alice White, Emily Fitzroy, of “Show Boat” fame, Chester Conklin and Ford Sterling. There will be the usual strong sup* porting programme. Following the pictures there will be a super jazz carnival with a specially augmented orchestra. A feature of the evening will be exhibition dancing by well-known Auckland artists. There will be many novelties, including streamers and balloons and buses will run to Devonport and Bayswater after the last dance. Prices, etc., are ad* vertised.
