FALL INTO HARBOUR
YOUNG BOY RESCUED Thrown into the water at the Devonport vehicular ferry wharf on Saturday afternoon when a scooter he was riding struck a pile, a young boy was rescued by two youths. A large crowd witnessed the rescue. When the boy fell into the water Clifford Hayson, aged 18, who was fishing from the wharf, and another youth named M. Jackson, immediately jumped in to save him and after a hard battle with a strong current they brought the boy to safety. Hayson was almost in a state of collapse when he reached the land.
