FIRE BRIGADE EFFICIENCY
The Marine Borough Fire Brigades have an annual competition in a ttvoman coupling event (old style) for the Fletcher Cup at Takapuna, the purpose being to promote both interbrigade intercourse and efficiency. Devonport has held the cup for several years, and on Saturday won it again from teams representing Takapuna and Xorthcote. The event, with times, resulted: —Devonport, 47 1-5 sec, 1; Takapuna, 52 4-ssec, 2: Xorthcote, 55sec, 3; all clean runs. The Devonport team was: Foreman Colley and Fireman J. O'Brien. Xext year the competition will be at Xorthcote and it is hoped that Birkenhead will be able to enter a team, as that borough is now forming a brigade,
