POST OFFICE AUTHORISED
BUILDING FOR TAUMARUNUI ‘SOME TIME MAY ELAPSE” From Our Ourn Correspondent TAUMARUNUI. Friday. The difficulties under which the Taumarunui postal staff works in au out-of-date and too small building in handling a growing business, will came to an end. as once again word has been received that the erection of a new building has been authorised. Very strong representations on tho question have been made by responsible authorities during the past year or two, as the present conditions are far from adequate for a town of Taumarumii’s size. The Postmaster-General, the Hon. J. B. Douald. has advised the Mayor, Mr. C. A. Boles, through Mr. F. Langstoue. M.P.. that “the erection of a new building has now been authorised. As final plans and specifications have still to be prepared and tenders invited, some time will necessarily elapse before the work is proceeded with.”
