AT 50 MILES AN HOUR
TALKIE SCENES MADE AT HIGH SPEED A Paramount “sound wagon’* was recently sent speeding through the streets of Hollywood on the heels of 40 motor-cyclist police, racing at 50 miles an hour, when a scene for “The Mighty,” George Bancroft’s latest Paramount all-talking picture, was filmed. The scene depicted ct round-up of hank robbers in the heart of the city. The screams of the sirens, the roar of motors and the sound of pistol fire wds recorded successfully during the mad dash through the streets. It is said to bo the first time that a ' moving sound shot” had been filmed. In which the recording equipment kept pace with the action. A fast camera-car kept side by side with the racing sound wagon and photographed the spectacular action. The Paramount “sound wagon” contains a complete electrical sound recording laboratory, which is specially insulated against all road shocks. The test proved it faultless in performance.
