PARKLANDS NOW
TAKAPUNA WESTERN AREA Xotification of the approval of the Takapuna Borough Council of the naming of the “back of the lake” part of the borough as Parklands was received by the Takapuna Western Ratepayers and Residents’ Association at its monthly meeting. The presentation was reported of a cheque of £5 from Bishop Cleary and Archdeacon Holbrook toward the erection of a shelter shed at the corner of Taharoto Road and Killarney Street. The borough council and the transport company at Takapuna have promised a third of the cost each. The residents are to contribute the remainder. In a discussion on the proposed floral fete, an opinion was given that more economical running than the fete held last year was needed, or the suggestion would have to be abandoned.
