PRINCES IN THE AIR
SEPARATE FLIGHTS TO YORKSHIRE EVOLUTION OF TRANSPORT British Official Wireless RUGBY, Thursday. The Prince of Wales and Prince George made separate flights to Yorkshire today. The Prince of Wales left Hendon by airplane for Harewood, near Leeds, to attend the funeral of the late Earl of Harewood. The machine was piloted by Lieutenant Fieidcn, His Royal Highness’ personal pilot. Prince George left his brother’s private landing ground at Windsor in a service airplane piloted by SquadronLeader Dou and flew to Hull to open the municipal airdrome there. It is one of the air stations in the chain now being formed in Die north of England by a private company. Prince George said he had decided to increase his knowledge of modern methods of transport by undertaking the journey by air. It had been a most enjoyable experience and one which he hoped to repeat when he visited other parts of the country. The evolution of air transport was amazing and it was apparent to all that in the future no city or town would bo able to hold its own without adequate facilities for aircraft.
