SUICIDE VERDICT
MAN HAD BEEN DEPRESSED Prom Our Oeun Correspondent PALMERSTON N.„ Friday. “Suicide, while in a state of depression,” was the s'erdict returned by the district coroner, Mr. J. D. Wilson, after hearing an inquiry at Woodville today into circumstances surrounding the death of Peter Morgan O’Brien, who was found on Thursday afternoon with his throat cut. From the evidence it appeared that O'Brien, who owned a mercery business in Tauranga, had been in bad health. He had left Tauranga for a holiday and after staying at Lexfin had gone to his brother-in-law, Mr. J. Little, of Kumeroa. He had not been sleeping well and at half past nine on Thursday morning had left the house to go for a walk. When he did not return for lunch a search was made, and he was discovered about a mile from the house, lying dead, with an open razor beside him. Deceased leaves a widow and three children.
