Tributes were paid in the German Press to the admirable manner in which the British troops had comported themselves and there were many German citizens who expressed their personal regret at parting from men whom they had grown to esteem. Photograph shows the band of the 2nd Battalion Royal Fusiliers leading the regiment back to the Ypres Barracks at Wiesbaden from their camp at Tiers Park.
