BRIDAL ATTENDANTS IN FLOWERED NINON SIMPSON—TAKLE A pretty wedding was solemnised at the Ponsonby Baptist Church on Wednesday evening, when Miss Miriel Annie Takie, elder daughter j of Mr. and Mrs. S. Takie, cf Curran Street, Herne Bay, was marson of Mr. and Mrs. J. Simpson, of so nof Mr. and Mrs. J. Simpson, of Frankton. The Rev. J. J. North, D.D., performed the ceremony. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, wore a frock of ivory georgette, fashioned simply, with long tight sleeves. The skirt was draped at the side and was daintily finished with sprays of orange blossom. She also wore a handsome veil of silk tulle caught at either side with long clusters of orange blossom and falling to form a train. She carried a sheaf bouquet of pale pink and white carnations. The bride’s three attendants, Misses Enid Kitchener. Olive Takie (sister of the bride) and Rene Simpson (sister of j the bridegroom), wore dainty frocks of j mauve, gold and blue floral ninon. The skirts were of circular design and j formed an uneven hemline at the back. The necks were finished with largo cape collars gracefully falling over one arm and tying with soft bows on the opposite side. Large crinoline hats were worn to tone and each carried a shower bouquet to match the j frock. Air. Del Carter acted in the capacity of best man. The reception was held at the Point Erin Tea Kiosk, which was arranged to accommodate over 70 guests. The bride’s mother received the guests in a frock of autumn tinted crepe de chine and a coat of black georgette trimmed with silk tulle lace, and wore a hat to tone. Mrs. Simpson was gowned in a frock of fine french navy repp, and both carried autumn tinted bouquets. During the evening musical items were given and dancing was indulged in. TE KUITI WEDDING IVORY AND SILVER THORESEN—FELLINGHAM St. Luke's Anglican Church, Te Kuiti, was the scene of an attractive wedding recently, when Miss Haddie Dorothea (Dorothy), eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Fellingham, of Te Mapara, was married to Mr. K. L. Thoresen, of Mahoenui. The Rev. Canon Kempthorne officiated. The bride, who was given away by her father, was robed in ivory silk georgette adorned with silver. The silk embroidered veil was becomingly

arranged and finished with sprays of orange blossoms. A bouquet of spring blooms was carried. The bridesmaids were Mass Hazel Fellingham and Miss Vera Harvey, who wore pink and blue georgette frocks respectively, both carrying pretty bouquets. Mrs. Fellingham, mother of the bride, wore a blue crepe de chine frock and a fawn crinoline hat and carried a bouquet of jonquils. | TE AWAMUTU WEDDING SOFTEST SATIN AND BRUSSELS LACE ANDREWS—PHILIP The Methodist Church, Te Awamutu. was prettily decorated for the wedding of Miss Joyce Nugent Philip, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Philip, of Te Awamutu, to Mr. Frederick George Andrews, only son of the late Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Andrews, of London, England. The bride wore a dainty frock -of ivory satin and Brussels point lace, with clusters of orange over the ears. She carried a shower bou- ‘ quet of white flowers and maidenhair fern, with tulle streamers. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Wills, and Mrs. Ray Cullen played the wedding march. Miss Jean Philip, sister of the bride, attended as bridesmaid, and wore a frock of shell pink georgette and silk lace, with uneven hem, and a crinoline straw hat, trimmed with georgette and flowers to tone. EVENING WEDDING DEVONSHIRE—FYFE At the Presbyterian Church, Gardner Road, Epsom, on Thursday evening, the marriage was solemnised of Miss Ina A. Fyfe, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Fyfe, and Mr. Charles J. Devonshire, of Paekakariki, youngest son of Mrs. E. Devonshire and the late Mr. Devonshire. The bridal frock was white chiffon taffeta made with a drooping skh't effect, and worn with a Brussels lace veil attached to sprays' of orange blossom. A bouquet of choice spring blooms was carried. Mr. Fyfe gave his daughter away, and the Rev. W. McDonald was the officiating clergyman.

The bridesmaids were Miss R. Fyfe and Miss D. Barlow, each attired in apricot taffeta frocks made in Victorian style, and Tuscan straw hats, with bouquets to tone.

Miss N. Russell and Miss N. AlcCallum were dainty little flower girls in their apple green taffeta frocks. Thev carried pretty posies to match. Air. S. Alain, of Opotiki, was best man, and Air. J. TAKLE—MOSELEN The marriage of Harold Leslie Talcle to Ruby Moselen was solemnised at North Memorial Baptist Church Remuera. The bride was gowned in white satin and Chantilly lace, modelled on early Victorian lines. Her brussels net veil was held in place by strands of orange blossom and small clusters, and she carried a white bouquet of sweet peas and maidenhair fern. Her train was carried by her two little nieces dressed in pale green taffeta. The bridesmaid, Aliss Amy Aloselen, looked charming in her pale pink georgette and silver lace frock, with uneven hem. Her bouquet was of lavender sweet peas. The bride’s mother wore a beige coat and mauve hat, and carried a posy of iceland poppies. Airs. Takie was in an ensemble of beige georgette, with a chic hat to match. Her shell pink posy harmonised perfectly. The wedding breakfast was held in the hall adjoining the church. At “Glencairn.” the residence of Mr. and Mrs. A. Hay, Owhango, the marriage was quietly celebrated of Anne, second daughter of Mr, and Mrs. Hay, and Leslie, eldest son of Mr. A. Brown, also of Owhango. The bride’s father gave her away, and she looked charming in a lovely gown of crepe de chine and silver.lace, with tulle veil and orange blossoms. She carried a dainty bouquet of freesias and fern. Miss M. Hay, a sister of the bride from North, attended as bridesmaid, her dress being a flared frock of blue georgette, set off with a posy of violets. The bridegroom’s brother, Mr. A. L. Brown, was best man, and the service was carried out by the Rev. J. E. Ward, of Taumarunui. A reception to a number of guests was given after the ceremony, the usual toasts being honoured.
