Cheery Dance In Hamilton

VICKERS MACHINE-GUN CORPS GAY AND COLOURFUL SCENE Members of the Vickers MachineGun Corps organised a cheery dance in the Regent Ballroom on Wednesday niglit. Thu decorations were very colourful, Chinese lanterns and streamers being principally used, while the lighting effects helped the decorative seneme. Mrs. W. Allen acted as hostess, and was wearing a frock of parchment georgette over flesh pink charmeuse. Alonds, burgundy crepe de chine. COMING-OF-AGE PARTY GAY PAPATOETOE FUNCTION A delightfully gay party was given by Mr. and Airs. A. B. Stonex, Kimpton Road, Papatoetoe, in the Renown Hall on Thursday evening, to celebrate the coming-of-age of their son Fred. About 80 guests attended and spent a very enjoyable evening dancing to music supplied by Air. and Mrs. Deverell, Misses Ray Stonex, Freda Stonex and Elma Clapham. Between dances musical items were contributed by Aliss Audrey Willerton, pianoforte solo; Miss Freda Stonex, dance; Aliss Lulu Hunter, elocutionary item. A Atonte Carlo waltz was won by Aliss Wignall and Mr. Roy Hicks. Novelty competitions were won by Air. W. Gall (2), Aliss AI. Stonex, Aliss Y. Willerton and All*. Ivan Stonex. Large bowls of golden daffodils and irises effectively decorated the supper tables. During supper toasts were proposed by Air. Fred Stonex, sen., and Air. Ivan Stonex, and responded to by Air. Fred Stonex, jun., and Air. Sid Stonex. Airs. A. B. Stonex received the guests wearing a dainty frock of airforce blue georgette and lace, finished with a posy. Among those present were; Airs. R.
