Advice was received at Thursday’s meeting of the Otahuhu Borough Council from the District Telegraph Engineer that the installation of a slot telephone is awaiting authorisation from the head office. With regard to a general automatic service, the engineer adhered to his former decision that the proposition is impracticable owing to the distance from the metropolitan automatic area. A request from the Tamaki Progressive League for the supply of a quantity of boulders and spoil for formation work in Pratt Street was referred to the Works Committee.
