ST. PETERSBURG REBUILT

A series of scenes have just bean completed in Germany from the new big Ufatonc picture of the BlochRabinowitsch Production, “The White Dcvii, 1 ’ in which some fifty members of the noted Russian ballet school of Madame Eduardowa and more than SOO extras were seen as generals, diplomats and members of tlio court of St. Petersburg in a most wonderful historic setting. Tremendous decorations over GOft. in height were erected in the large studio, in-esenting a true picture to the minutest detail of the Interior of the former Imperial Grand Opera at St. Petersburg. The centre of attraction in these scenes was Iwan Mosjukin, who plays the • leading part of Hadschi Murat, tlio chief of the Caucasian insurrection. Lil Dagover and Betty Amann will be seen in the leading female parts, while Fritz Alberty has been entrusted with the part of a Tsar. Nick Stuart, who took scenes for “Chasing Through Europe” in Petticoat Lane, the famed market place of London, where you can buy all the junk and meet all the crooks you want, says you can have your watch stolen from you at one end of the street and buy it back at the other later. We would like to know If it’s true that Nick borrowed the watch of his director, David Butler, and let Butler buy it back subsequently.
