BANK OF N.Z. ACTIVE BUSINESS on ’Change is gradually spreading to a wider tield and considerable activity is being registered in many shares. Bank of New Zealand are selling freely at t>3s 6d.

Reported: Bank of New Zealand. £3 3s 6d; Auckland Gas, £1 4s 2d: Ohinemuri Gold and Silver, 10s 6d; New Zealand Government War liOan, 1933, 5* per cent., £lOl 12s 6d; New Zealand Breweries (deb.), £1 Bs. Business at this morning’s call. —On •Change: Timaru Brewery (new issue), Ss lOd. Reported: Union Bank of Australia. £ls Is 6d; Bank of Australasia, £l4 9s; New Zealand Insurance, £2 8s 1 id. • • m The bank section is commanding considerable attention and numerous sales are being written up. New South Wales are exceptionally firm cum dividend, and shares are scarce. Union of Australia are selling freely at market rates. In the loan and agency, shares remain firm and occasional sales are being reported. Farmers’ Co-op. Auctioneering are improving. Goldsbrough Mort. maintain fair inquiries. River Plate are also firm, with buyers 30s 6d. sellers holding for 31s 9d. Loan and
Mercantile, both issues, have keen buyers. * * * Coal shares are less active. Hikurangi, all issues, have persistent buyers. Renown, both issues, are asked for, few shares changing hands.
