Several pigeon flying clubs staged races on Saturday.

TIIO Ponsonby I’igeon Flying Club’s second race of the 1929 old bird series from Te Ivuiti (airline 106 miles) was won by Mr. N. Waddell’s b c li Douglas Pride (I,l6oyds a minute); Messrs. \\ . O Brien and Son’s w c Royal Buzzer (1,156yd5), second; Mr. D. Newman’s r c c Sandy (1.3 54yds). third.

The North Short Club contested its second race of the old bird series from Te Awamutu. a distance of 86 miles, the results being:—Mr. H. E. Crowhurst’s Shore Advance, velocity 1,058.8

yds a minute, first: Mr. E. Andrew’s Lady Lorna, 1,058.5yd5, second; Mr. A Gilbert’s The Trump, I,o4lyds, third.

The first race of the Avalon Club’s 1929 old bird series (airline distance, 56 miles), resulted: - Hewlett Brothers’ Windy (1.008.6yd5). first: Messrs. L. and T. Lambie’s Stroller (994yds). second- Mr. J. Wilson’s Blue Sky* (993 yds) third.

The Point Chevalier Club’s race from Te Awamutu (86 miles airline), resulted: —Mr. L. Cantell’s Ebony (1,061 yds a minute), first; Mr. T. Hughes’s Downfall. 1,054yd5, second; Messrs. Howell and Massan's Trustworthy, l,o4Syds, third.
