STUDENTS’ ASSOCIATION HOLDS SUCCESSRJL EVENING PRESENTATION OF “BLUES" A bright and jolly dance was held by the Auckland University College Students’ Association in the Assembly Hall on Saturday evening. The committee responsible comprised Miss R. Walker. Miss Jean Alueller, Aliss Jean Mclntosh. Aliss D. Gilmore, Miss J. AlcCormick, Alessrs. X. Jenkin, R. Aubin, E. East, G. McLeod, W. Platts and R. Smith. Alorgan’s orchestra played up-to-date music thajt expressed the spirit of the dancers. A pleasing interlude during the evening was the presentation of the ’•Blues,” awarded by the Blues Committee for the season. Suter. in cherry georgette with handkerchief draperies; Miss Aliller, who wore black mirror velvet; Aliss Peggy Ford, whose black taffeta frock was brightened with * bow in gardenia shade; Miss K. v\ alsh, who wore an olive green shot silk frock and shawl to tone; Miss Vera. Knell, who had on an alice blue taffeta frock made in period style, and relieved with sunset pink; Aliss K. Duncan, who wox*e a rftauve georgette frock relieved with a trail of carnation pink roses. MANY PRETTY GOWNS Aliss Gladys Hayward, who was in turquoise blue crepe de chine, surmounted with a posy of pink roses; Aliss C. East, who chose soft pink tulle ornamented with tiny rosebuds; Aliss Gray Young, who wore a black lace period frock; Miss Jean Foreman, in eggshell blue charmeuse. with shoulder spray of pink rosebuds; Aliss Xancy Whitelaw, in periwinkle blue with frilled skirt, and shoulder posy of japoniea pink; Miss O. L. Hutter, who was frocked in wedgwood blue crepe de chine; Aliss Phyllis Aickin. wearing an opalescent tulle frock in apricot shade, with uneven hem; Miss Mary Graham, in sea green tulle; Aliss Polly Proctor, who had on a picture frock of kingfisher blue chiffon velvet.
