Shaw Play Stage# in Poland
“THE APPLE CART” Bernard Shaw’s latest play, “The Apple Cart,” has been presented for tbe first time on any stage in Warsaw, the capital of Poland. It was translated by M. Sobieniowski, was also represented the author, who was unable to attend owing to had health. The whole Press published long and enthusiastic articles expressing gratitude for Mr. Shaw’s honour to Poland in granting that country priority for performance. The writer, M. Nowaczynski, considers that Mr. Shaw is not only an extraordinary playwright, but also a great sage. M. Stepanski plays the leading role and says that it is one of the most beautiful he has played in his life. He enjoys the opportunity of uttering in an actor’s capacity so many clever things.
