TRINITY COLLEGE EXAMS.
HAMILTON STUDENTS SCORE WELL IN TESTS LIST OF SUCCESSES Of the 136 candidates who entered for the Trinity College of Music examinations which were concluded at Hamilton this week, no fewer than 121, or 89 per cent., satisfied the examiner, Mr. C. Egerton Lowe, F.T.C.L. Last year 9b candidates entered and 74, or 78 per cent., were successful. Miss Ngaire Alexander, who won the Junior Exhibition for New Zealand and centre medal (junior) last year, has again distinguished herself by winning the centre medal for the intermediate division. Subject to production of satisfactory evidence of age, the centre medals will be awarded as follows: Associate.—Miss Myra Salter, 86 marks (pianoforte). Higher Local.—Miss Alma L. Sloper, 81 (pianoforte). Senior.—Miss Rose A. Stead, SI (pianoforte). Intermediate.—Miss Ngaire Alexander, 85 (pianoforte). Junior. —Miss Cecelia M. McLachlan, 83 (violin).
Preparatory.—Miss Yvonne M. McLachlan, 94 (’cello). First Steps.—Miss Crena McGovern, 92 (pianoforte). In addition to the above medallists, honours were awarded to 20 candidates.
