BANCROFT ALSO AT ROYAL
An unusually powerful story of the New York waterfront of the hectic days of 1890 will be shown at the Royal Theatre, Kingsland, this evening. This is "The Docks of New York,” starring the virile actor George Bancroft as a rough stoker, and Betty Compson as the girl he rescues from drowning, and afterwards marries in a. tit of revelry. Clyde Cook has the role of Bancroft’s stoker pal, and Baelari"\a Is seen as the proprietress of a wharf drinking saloon. Despite the sordldness of the background, the film tells a story of undoubted interest.
