TIVOLI AND EVERYBODY’S

“HOT STUFF” Alice White, the well known emissary of mirth and pep, adorns the screen at the Tivoli and Everybody’s Theatres this week in her latest picture, entitled “Hot Stuff.” Miss White, who is devoting her cinema life to resting the eyes of the tired business man and spreading the gospel of joy, has an ideal vehicle for her purpose in “Hot Stuff,” which, while a story of college life, will appeal to children of all ages, from seven to 77 and up. It is not necessary to be collegiate to thrill to the escapades of Alice, as the wise littled “co-ed,” and her don’t-give-a-whoop collegiate pals. Alice makes it easy for the ignorant, as well as the learned, to react favourably to her antics. In other words, this girl has the ability to act. She is a fascinating damsel, and her boxoffice magnetism must be getting more and more powerful, thus bringing great delight to the hearts of the First National executives, under whose banner she works Louise Fazenda depicts another of her picturesque old - fashioned characters. As the spinster who encourages a modern young college girl to be “wild” so as .o trap the increasingly elusive young men, however. she has a novel role.

William Bakewell plays opposite the star, and other important characters in the story are enacted by Doris Dawson, Ben Hall and Buddy MesAmong the supporting films is a Hoot Gibson story, entitled "Smilin’ Guns,” telling of a cowboy who tried to step into high society.
