An excellent selection of classical ; and popular compositions was pre- ; sented by the city organist. Air. j Maughan Barnett, to a large and ap- ; preciative audience in the Town Hall last evening. The concert opened with I Bach's “Short Prelude” and “Fugue I in E> Minor,” which was followed by I ono of Brahms's beautiful “Hungarian i Hances,” which evoked warm applause. ! Liszt's “St. Francis Preaching to the Birds” was admirably interpreted, an was also a “Finale” by Cesar Franck. The negro spiritual. “Swing Low.
