LIMERICK COMPETITION
The results of the last limerick competition are as follow: First prize: Rosemary Perrett, 29 Mount Smart Road, Onehunga, aged 11: A blackbird once said to a linnet, “My has three pretty eggs in Pray tell me, good friend, Will these quakes never end? I’m sure they’ll be cracked in a m inute.” Second prize: Patience Anne Robertson, 9 Remuera Road, Auckland, aged 9: A blackbird once said to a linnet, "My nest has three pretty eggs in Pray tell me, good friend, When spring’s at an end, Will my nest have three babies within it?” Highly commended: Joan Duthie, Epsom; Ronald Green, Ellerslie: Sheila Feltham, Raefcihi; Nancy Mclntyre, Grey Lynn; Cathleen Fletcher, Glen Eden; Ron Gordon, Thames; Dorothy White, Hamilton; Rhys Runciman, Mount Albert.
