Two Community Halls Gayly Decorated for Annual Golf Dance NIKAUS AND STREAMERS All roads led to Kaik’ohe on Tuesday night last when the Kaikohe Golf Club held its annual ball. r jpHE two community halls were engaged, one for dancing and the other for refreshments. Both were most artistically decorated. The ballroom was gay with streamers in the club colours of blue and gold, arranged in lines from which were suspended uniform lengths of streamers, intermingled with lycopodium. In the corners and stairways were aranged whole nikau palms and the balcony was decorated with lycopodium and nikau fronds, presenting a very rustic appearance.

The supper liall was decorated with nikau and limbs of bush trees, with a magnificent specimen of a nikau in the centre reaching to the ceiling. The fine evening tempted visitors from Whangaroa, Hoklanga, Whangarei and Hobson Counties as well as from all the neighbouring towns. The visitors were received by the chaperones, Mesdames Guerin, Guy, Edwards, Bean and J. H. Orr. The music was supplied by the Kaeo Orchestra, and Messrs. Bean and Heslop were M.C.’s.
