Coming-of-Age Party Honours Miss Rainger

Delightful Dance Held in St. George’s Hall MANY FRIENDS PRESENT To celebrate the 21st birthday of their younger daughter, Connie, Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Rainger, of Domett Aveftue, Epsom, gave a delightful dance 'in St. George’s Hail, Ranfurly Road, last evening. PRIGHTENED with an effective manipulation of multi-hued streamers, the hall was further transformed with hanging baskets of ferns and palms, .from which gleamed twinkling electric lights that diffused their radiance over lovely frocks. Clyde Howley’s orchestra was at its merriest, and inspired the youthful dancers until the early morning hours. Iceland poppies in golden and tangerine tints graced the supper table. Mrs. W. J. Rainger was gowned in black and gold encrusted lace, with a turquoise blue embossed shawl. Mrs. IL Brett was in black silk mariette, with silver shoulder scarf. Miss Connie Rainger looked very charming in a long picture frock made with tight-fitting golden lace bodice, and flounced skirt of sunglow tulle, a swathing of satin defining the waist. Miss Rona Rainger wore sapphire blue lame, fashioned with full skirt. AMONG THE GUESTS Mrs. Allan Rainger had on her lovely bridal frock of ivory satin over delicate pink taffeta, the skirt bordered with limerick lace. Mrs. Leslia Rainger's frock was black honiton lace over satin, relieved with a shot taffeta bow. Mrs. Norman Brett wore a black lace and ninon frock with floating panels and insets of reseda green. Mrs. Trevor Brett was frocked in soft ivory satin beaute, gracefully draped at each side. Miss Cushla Rainger had on a french lace frock delicately appiiqued in pastel tints. Miss Margaret Rainger was in mastic lace over shell pink silk, with shoulder spray of orchids. Mrs. Lintot’s frock was opalescent taffeta. Mrs. Nigel Morris had on wedgewood blue georgette with white Spanish shawl. Mrs. J. B. Donald wore electric blue taffeta and tulle. Mrs. Arch dale Tayler was in black velvet with royal blue patterned shawl. EMBOSSED GEORGETTE Mrs. G. H. Woolley was wearing embossed georgette in tones of egyptian blue and fawn. Mrs. H. C. Luscombe was in black jetted georgette with geranium chenille wrap. Miss M. Tayler’s ring velvet frock was in cherry shades. Miss Nance Owen’s picture frock had a gold lame bodice and apple green frilled georgette skirt. Mrs. L. Patrick wore a crystal beaded georgette frock outlined wi rhinestones. Miss W. Frater had on black taffeta relieved at one side with a tangerine velvet bow. Mrs. Noel Airey wore an ankle length frock of sapphire blue embossed in silver. Miss Nancy Noakes was in china blue georgette, the long pointed draperies edged with lace in the same shade. Miss Dolly Vaile wore floral ninon in tones of blue, and pastel pink embroidered shawl. Miss Joan Robertson’s frock was lemon tulle. Miss Audrey Alison wore a simply draped frock of white charmeuse. Miss Barbara Pierce wore a befrilled frock of cameo pink tulle. DELPHINIUM BLUE TAFFETA Miss Betty Wilson’s picture frock was delphinium blue taffeta. Miss M. Hay was in embroidered gold lace over charmeuse. Mrs. R. Donald’s frock was black honiton lace relieved with ecru. Miss Biddy Philcox wore a period frock of gold lace and lame, the ceinture defined with narrow velvet in turquoise blue. Miss Bruce hay had on an ankle length frock of befrilled georgette in shaded tones of rose, and a crystal and pink bridge coat. Miss Inez Russell wore an almond green charmeuse frock outlined in diamente, and jade green wrap. Miss Marie Gaudin had on claret georgette over gold lace, with velvet bow at the hip. Miss Gwen Kingston wore a cherry taffeta petalled frock, and oyster chenille wrap. Miss Freda Gaudin’s frock was white chenille and tulle. Miss Mollie Mitchelson’s black georgette frock was designed in silver and crystal beeds. Miss Tweet Maclndoe wore an effective frock of golden lace, and a silver lame cloak. Miss Helen Seabrook wore a frilled frock of begonia taffeta finished with a jade green bow. Miss Molly Gifford’s distinctive frock was of pa.stel green ring velvet with hip draperies and french bow in cerise.
