“LOVE NEVER DIES” Colleen Moore and Gary Cooper have the most successful roles of their careers in “Love Never Dies,” the First National picture which is the attraction at the Plaza Theatre. Other members of the large cast are Burr Mclntosh, George Cooper, Cleve Moore and Emile Chautard, who give memorable portrayals in a story of love and adventure in the Royal Air Force. The story deals with the career of Jeannine Bethelot. a French girl, who
falls in love with a British “ace.” Captain Philip Blythe, who is quartered at her mother’s farm near the French front. In spite of the fact that he is engaged to marry an English lady. Philip falls a victim to the charms of the French girl and on the eve of a raid declares
that if he is not killed he will marry her on his return. The manner in which the lovers are united makes a happy conclusion to the film. . , “Love Never Dies,” which was originally entitled “Lilac Time,” has full sound and musical synchronisation. A number of excellent short talkie features is also presented. There are some charming Southern songs by Mary Lewis, of the Metropolitan Grand Opera. New York; a humorous sketcn bv Clyde Cook; banjo items by Max Schepp; jazz by Abe Lyman’s tra; and humorous items by Val and Ernie Stanton, a clever pair of English comedians.
