DAIRYING AWARDS
NGATEA COMPANY’S SUCCESS (From Our Own Correspondent) NGATEA, Friday. Settlers from all parts of the Ngaten. district met last evening to celebrate the success of the Ngatea Dairy Factory winning the Weddel Cup, and also the success of the Patetonga North settlers in winning the Davis Cup. In presenting the Davis Cup, won by the Patetonga. North settlers for the second year in succession. Mr. Dynes Fulton. chairman of directors of the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company. congratulated them on their fine achievement in again winning the trophy by supplying the highest percentage of superfine cream from 16 services. The Patetonga. North service had forwarded 96.88 per cent. superfine cream. The runners-up for the cup were the Patetongs. tramline service. 94 per cent., and the Orchard East Road service, 93.61 per cent. The Cup was received by Mr. N. White:nan on behalf of the winner. In presenting the \Veddel Cup. Dir. C. J. Parlane. general manager of the New Zealand Dairy Company. praised the efficiency of Mr. Foster's management, although he realised that the first credit must be given the factory's suppliers for forwarding such a high standard of produce. By winning the W‘eddel Cup the Ngatea rectory had demonstrated its right to the title of the champion dairy a! the Auckland Province. (Applause) he Ngatea factory had a splendid rccord in this connection and was entitled to credit for filling third place in the Dcminion's championship contest for the season Just ended. _—._.._. TE AWAMUTU DAIRY COMPANY '7 Suppliers of the Te Awamutu (To-oper-ative Dairy Company. Ltd., will close their books for the 1928-29 season showing an average return on butter-mt supplied to the factory of ls 6.52 d a. lb, irrespective of grade. The company’s out< gut has grown from 134 tons in 1926 to 80 tons or the season Just closed. Over the same period the number of suppliers has increased £2:qrn_j§ to 210._ _
A total of £104,553 was advanced to supplier* during ilie season.
