CIVIL SERVANT’S THEFTS
FATIGUED BY EXAMINATIONS (From Our Own Correspondent) HAMILTON, Today. A Young man. Noel William McColl, 19, clerk of the court at Ftawene, pleaded guilty in the Hamilton Police Court today to three charges of theft of motor-cycles tyres and a drum containing four gallons of benzine. Senior-Sergeant Sweeney said the accused, who came from Te Kuiti, was employed in the official assignee's office at the time of the offences. The tyros had since been recovered at a Hamilton auction mart. Mr. J. F. Strang, for the. accused, said the youth had a very good education. but had been mentally fatigued owing to examinations. Mr. S. L. Paterson, S.M.. placed MeColl on probation for two years.
