“ALL DAY” TICKETS
TRAMWAY' INNOVATION SIX MONTHS’ EXPERIMENT To encourage more use of the trams, Mr. A. E. Ford, manager of the Auckland transport system, made the proposal at this morning’s meeting of the Tnansport Board that an "‘all day" ticket, availablefoyer: a” tram routes and on all tramcars other than specials, be issued at 15, 6d,eac.h.i The board decided to adopt the suggestion, which will be given a .trial for six months. “A ticket of‘this nature has been in use on the London County Council tramways during the past four years, and from information available has had the effect of increasing its tramway traflic receipts,” said Mr. Ford. The tickets will be "not transferable” and will, be available for use on the day of. issue only, but can be used as often on that day as the holder desires. "It is believed that the tickets will appeal to business houses employing city and suburban travellers and messengers.
