CANON KNOWS NOTHING
RUMOURED APPOINTMENT AS ARCHBISHOP (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) Reed. 9 a.m. LONDON, Friday. The Australian and New Zealand Press Association interviewed Canon Travers Guy Rogers regarding the rumour from Melbourne that he would be offered the see made vacant by the death of Archbishop Lees. Canon Rogers said:—“l know nothing whatever about it.” . A Melbourne message says:—lt is understood that the Electoial Board of the Anglican Synod, which is dealing with the selection of a new Archbishop of Melbourne, in succession to the late Dr. Harrington Lees, proposes to offer the vacant see to the Rev. Travers Guy Rogers. Rector of Birmingham, and a chaplain to the King.
