WESTPORT WORRIES
FINANCIAL TROUBLE AHEAD QUESTIONS IN THE HOUSE (THE SUN'S Parliamentary Reporter) PARLIAMENT BLDGS., Today. Financial troubles are starting to worry the people o£ Westport after the earthquake. In an urgent question to the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. Sir Joseph Ward. Mr. H. E. Holland stated that the wholesale firms were starting to press the retailers in Westport for their money, and in turn the retail houses had to press their customers. Considering the circumstances in which the people found themselves today it was difficult tor them to pay. He wanted to know of the Prime Minister it lhere were any means of asking the wholesale houses to stop the pressure in the meantime. The Prime Minister answered that he would be glad to look into the position.
