NOISY CUSTOMER
MANY TIMES CONVICTED
Archibald Chester, of Westport, who went into a Karangahape Road restaurant and assaulted the proprietor last evening, -was charged at the Police Court this morning with assault, drunkenness and a breach of his prohibition order. Chester, aged 28, pleaded guilty on all charges and Sub-inspector Me- ’ Carthy described the assault as “very serious." Chester had gone to a ' restaurant and made a disturbance so ! that the proprietor had found it j necessary to go for a constable. “When I the proprietor returned Chester made 1 a swipe at him and tried to strike | him," added the sub-inspector, j Examining Chester’s list, Mr. F. K. ; Hunt, S.M., remarked that the man j had been three times fined for assault. ! He had also been gaoled for the same : offence. “Your prohibition order I was made in Westport and you come I here and start drinking," he said to | Chester. | On the sub-inspector’s suggestion, | Chester was remanded for a week for j sentence. There was another charge jto be investigated.
