Seddonville Again in Danger of Flood
RESIDENTS WARNED WATER BANKING UP Press Association WESTPORT, Today. Following on an inspection by an engineer it has been established that there is a\ definite danger of Seddonviile being flooded once more, and a warning has been issued to those still in the township. YXTHEN the inspection was made it was found that, at the big dam 16 miles up, only a portion of the debris had come away, and that the water was banking up again. A' watch has been set so that the position can be communicated to the township. Exceptionally heavy rain set in yesterday and continued throughout the night and today, some two inches being registered up to noon. A good deal of water is coming down the Buller River and a small flood is expected, but Westport is not thought to -be in danger. At Seddonville good progress has been made with cleaning up the homes, but if the threatened flood comes down the township will be in a worse plight than after the first flood. All possible precautionary measures are being taken.
