MORRINSVILLE NOTES

The annual meeting of tho MorrinsVille Band on Thursday was quite enthusiastic following on a good year. Luring the year, however, stated the report, the band had lost the services of its bandmaster, Mr. L. Buchan, and Messrs, fj. Crickett, E. Glimmer, H. Thompson. C. Ritchie, O. Neals and K. Keating, all of whom had left the district. Tho balance sheet showed a credit of £32 16s 2d, but the working Account showed a loss of £l3 11s 10d on the year. The following officers were elected: Bandmaster, Mr. G. Large: secretary, ~f r - \v. Reason; chairman, the Rev. TV. Wilkes: auditor, Mr. ”• <JBborne; bandsmen on Management Committee. Messrs. Large, C. Dcivid®°n and Redshaw. * * * At a meeting of the executive of the Morrinsville A. and I*. Association this a letter was received stating that the Clydesdale Horse Society had allocated the U.S.S. Cup, valued at oO guineas, for competition at the 1930 •Morrinsville Show.
