TROUBLE AT DANCE

YOUNG MAN EJECTED COSTLY EXUBERANCE (From Our Own Correspondent) PUKEKOHE, Today. As a sequel to a disturbance at a dance in the Strand Theatre, Pukekohe, on June 3, Arthur Hamilton, a young man from Papakura, appeared in the Police Court this morning. Accused pleaded guilty to behaving in a disorderly manner, to disturbing a public entertainment, and to using obscene language. Sergeant J. T. Cowan said the accused, accompanied by friends, arrived from Papakura. Following a scene in the hall, Hamilton was ejected twice. Then he used bad language, and created a disturbance during the subsequent period of three hours. When the police were summoned, accused disappeared. He was certainly under the influence of liquo.r. A fireman on duty at the hall. ArArthur Edward Lome, gave evidence relating to accused being ejected from the building. He said the language was not used in the hall, but the alleyway. In reply to the bench, the sergeant said the accused had no previous convictions, btit had not a good name at Papakura. On the first charge, accused was ordered to pay £2 3s costs, and fined £1 for creating the disturbance; and on the bad language charge, he was fined £1 10s, with costs 10s.
