VILE LANGUAGE
“WORST FOR 22 YEARS”

"In my experience of 22 years as a police oilicer I have not met an individual who uses such vile language,” said Constable Shaw when giving evidence at Te Awamutu Police Court on Friday, concerning Hamilton John Walker, who was charged with using obscene language, and resisting the police.
Constable Hooker stated Walker claimed to be “not quite right in the head.” He came from Auckland about three months ago. His record was eight convictions tor bad language, theft and resisting the police, extending over a period from 1915. The worst featur*e of the present charges was that the language was used in the presence of women and children. If drink was the cause Walker should never touch it.
The Bench said Walker’s record was one to be ashamed of. On each of the three charges he would be sentenced to one month’s imprisonment, these to be cumulative, totalling three months in all.
