TE AROHA BOROUGH

After their annual tour of inspection of the town and suburbs the Te Aroha Borough Council met last evening to discuss tho estimates and expenditure for the year 1929-30.

From the cash in hand and the anticipated revenue there was a deficiency against the estimates of £3,061 16s 4d, and to meet this it was proposed to impose a general rate of Is 7d in the £1 on an assessment of £44,300. The amount thus produced would be £3,507 Is Bd.

The abattoir report showed a decrease in the receipts for last month. Fees for that period totalled £96 10s.

It was decided that casual hands employed by the council be given at least one week’s holiday on full pay during tho year, and half wages when absent on account of illness.
