TONS OF FOOD FOR HUNGRY SCOUTS 80,000 EGGS WILL BE EATEN (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) Reed. 9 a.m. LONDON, Wednesday. The Chief Scout, Sir Robert BadenPowell, lunched with a representative gathering at the Hyde Park Hotel, as aa introduction to the forthcoming jamboree of 30,000 scouts from 42 nations. The Australian and New Zealand scouts at the jamboree will help to eat 80,000 eggs, ten tons of bacon, three tons of sugar, ten tons of cheese, three tons of tea, five tons of suet, eight tons of rice, 200 tons of bread, and 15,000 packets of cereal foods.
