WAIUKU TOWN BOARD
The ordinary meeting of the Waiuku Town Board was held on Monday, the chairman, Mr. J. J. A. James, presiding. The Main Highways Board wrote authorising the expenditure of £228 9s for giving the surface of Kitchener Road from Dromgool’s corner to the National Bank another dressing. The chairman said that the Highways Board’s engineer had suspended Kitchener Street, and required it to b© repaired from the broken edge of the present bitumen out to the watertable. It was decided to submit an estimate of £225 to the Main Highways Board to have the repair work carried out.
The clerk submitted a rough draft of receipts and expenditure for the year 1929-30, which disclosed that the board would have about £2,303 in hand for maintenance of the roads for the year. The following rat© was struck for the current year: General, 1 15-16 d; special, id; hospital, 5-16 d; and 11-16 d on the water loan.
